Doing bicep curls and shoulder presses are good on a stability ball too.
You know when you don't do these all the time you forget how I had forgotten how to do a bench press. The words were there but not meaning squat apparently having a blonde moment. lol!!!
Dam it felt good working out again!!! My arms are so weak!!!

Talk about role models just over the weekend I was in a restaurant and a Mother was ordering soup and cheesecake for dinner...she asked her daughter what she wanted and she said Pizza...the mom told her they didn't have pizza what else would she like and the daughter said French Fries. To which the mother said "You really need to start eating better you cant just have french fries and cheesecake for dinner." As if Menudo and cheesecake was the healthy winning combination. Then she started suggesting foods to her daughter..."how bout nachos...or a fried burrito." Really lady? Those were the choices that she thought would be better for her daughter to have for dinner! It is a sick and very sad "goal" for this woman but how do you talk someone out of it? Look at Guinness book of records it's filled with thousands of people who do insane things to reach a really dumb goals of some sort. I would say that these people should put their energies elsewhere...maybe create a new goal of curing cancer or ending poverty but I seriously doubt that anyone who would make a goal for themselves to be the "worlds fattest mom," possesses enough intelligence to do much else with their lives. It's just a sad fact that ignorant people are all around us. The saddest part is this. Because we have taken time out of our day to even make this issue relevant some other moron will decide that they want to have the same goal that she has. We are perpetuating the cycle.

I understand that butterfly, you can't fly on your own if everyone does the work for you. I feel like that butterfly, struggling to get through with this injury, but I am not going to quit and die. The last few days I have had a set back and my leg is sore again nowhere near the pain it was in but still there. I have people come up to me and offer rides or ask if I am alright I tell them its an injury I have for 6 months now just coping with each day as it happens. Its like when someone says you can't do something and you do because no way is anyone telling me I can't do it. I am that caterpiller on a mission to grow into a beautiful butterfly with everyday a new start and struggle. And what do you know same with eating you struggle day after day to eat healthier and do the right thing just don't GIVE UP keep going one thing at a time change happens and we feel good about it.
We all have wings we need to spread and grow on our own.
Thanks for reminding me, nothing is easy and we have to do the best we can when we can.

I don't think people know how to react when they just don't understand what "healthy" and "balance" is. The lashing out negatively seems to be a way of making themselves feel better somehow. They can't connect with how you manage your nutition, because they don't 'manage' theirs. I have found that having a few key phrases to put the comment back on the person helps. Keeping a smile on my face and a lightheated tone I will say something like,"Why would you say that"? or "I'm sorry, what do you mean"?
You are a shining example...keep on teaching the masses sister!

Rachel, I'll back you up I seriously get it. I know what you mean just because you ate one lousy meal not healthy, people jump I thought you were on a diet. People have no sense on real life of what they can or cannot eat. In their eyes you are either on a diet or your not. People are human and tend to eat chocolate or have a lobster meal or whatever turns them on but that doesn't mean their way of eating was changed just like that. If you are eating the healthier food choices majority of the time one meal isn't going switch you back to eating crap. You enjoy it do what you were doing and get back on track as soon as possible.
The real whole point of this is to chose wisely and take care of yourself.
You only get one of you and why not do your best at taking care of number one. If their are slips or cheat meals enjoy it while they last and get right back on track. Others that don't get it just throw it back in your face without any thought, basically trying to rub it in that you couldn't do it but in reality we all deserve a treat once in awhile. Over all its jealousy, that you can follow through and one meal doesn't add a tonne weight back in an instant.

Saddest thing about the biggest loser is it is a game!! People sign up to be with Jillian and Bob do the workouts and everything that goes with it to go home and back to square one. Life is life do you want to be fat for the rest of your life or do something about it. Life goes on, work, kids everything in between, its not a rolled up tight package this is all you have to do and thats it. Birthdays come up, x-mas, whatever there is no excuse. Nobody says you have to workout 3-6 hours a day but one hour you can find to squeeze in a workout or a walk. Losing weight on the biggest loser doesn't give you permission to say oh well that time is up back to what I was doing before. If it does you seemed to miss the whole thing. A change in your life one meal at a time day after day. No one is saying a diet thats just crazy talk but make the changes don't eat that whole pie or plate of cookies healthy or otherwise put your knowledge to use and eat sensibly and do the workouts daily and before you know it its your life. Not a tv.show to win some money but your life to look after from now and forever.

Right on Rachel!! It's not a fad diet or temporary program. It's a lifelong process, so the changes you make should become habits! Learn how to eat healthy for life.

Hey How's it going?? Willpower/cheating Got to fill you in I have a lot of willpower. I seriously have been sticking to proper eating for a week with my cheat meal in there too. It was great! Willpower came off holidays gave me a swift kick and well here you go. I am one of those people who are on a diet (lifestyle change) and do go to the extremes of (eating what in the box.) I don't get all in a fit over it, but... that is the problem. Yes we are real people you are going to eat a cookie when you shouldn't or whatever but when that sneaks into the full day you basically throw your hands up and say the hell with it and eat. I don't beat myself up over it but I do get back on the horse with the next meal/snack and eat right.
Water the other big kicker in my life is great!! I actually get my 8-10 glasses of water in a day and my coffee level has gone to noon and cut off, I miss that one sometimes around 3pm I am looking for a coffee and now grab a water instead.
